Welcome Brenda to the Body Truth Community! We met while serving together on a distribution Saturday at Northwest Community Center. We immediately connected as we started talking about exhaustion and the toll it takes on the body; I’m thankful God’s transformational power has led her to share something that encourages today’s young woman.
In the busyness of life it is so easy to get caught up in it. Sometimes we get so used to living in exhaustion.
However, because our bodies are a gift that we are to steward and take care of, we must learn the art of resting. In Psalm 23:1-2a it says: “Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.”
Because I know that God is my good shepherd, I know that he will bless my obedience in knowing that He can do more through me with Him by my side than me by myself.
Resting is not something that comes naturally to me, but rather something that I am intentional about. Once a week I spend a day completely resting! This includes physical, mental and emotional rest.
Recently, I heard a phrase I have been pondering on: “Seek to discern where God’s blessing is resting.”
Today I encourage you to pick a day where you will be actively resting. Whether that is being outside, reading a book, painting, trying out a new coffee shop, hanging out with friends, or pampering yourself, take time to rest.
See the transformation you experience.
